Abstract
The concept of interfacial permeation was recently introduced and exemplarily applied to simple metallic systems with finite dissipation. The extension of this model to the much more complicated electrochemical interfaces is now demonstrated. The exchange current, measured either by impedance spectroscopy or by cyclic voltammetry, forms the experimentally accessible key quantity. Using the interface dissipation model as omplemented in the OpenPhase codeiv simulations of an electrochemical lithium ion cell are performed. The transport of charged species in gradients of concentration, electrical and chemical potential, under consideration of the Poisson equation, is considered. The shape and evolution of regions with different charge densities is shown.
