The modeling of free surfaces is an important aspect of casting process simulation, due to the influence of mold-filling on the whole casting process. A new stabilization of the VoF method without reconstruction is presented for a control volume method on unstructured grids. This method has been inspired by level set methods. The stabilization transforms the hyperbolic equation of transport into a modified parabolic equation. Tests on simple problems and industrial applications are presented.
